It is reported that Adidas used ARAMIS motion capture technology in its design. This technique will design more suitable shoes based on the individual's skin or bone pressure and laxity. Most of Adidas' current manufacturing operations are still outsourced to manufacturers in China and other Asian countries. The vast majority of its annual output of approximately 300 million sports shoes is manufactured manually. And SpeedFactory's current production of 500 pairs of prototype shoes, it is obviously too early to replace the former.

However, in the long run, low-cost robotic factories after labor reduction can make Adidas benefit from manufacturing. Lower labor costs also mean that the company can build more SpeedFactory in the future closer to the sales market, so that it can more quickly obtain and meet consumer demand and shorten the supply chain cycle.

Nike also began implementing cost reduction plans to promote product manufacturing to close to major markets.
