The Profile system handles colors in two ways. The first method: Profile messages built into the device are automatically operated to generate an open color message by key operation, or an open color message is interpreted as a characteristic color of the device, and then displayed or printed. Each stage of this method requires the profile software provided by the merchant or user to support it. The second method is to keep the ICCProfile software in the hands of the operator. When the file is processed, the operator loads the ICC Profile and sends the file to the next step. At the time of the operation, the operator here again needs to load the ICC Profile. Of course, the operator generates ICC Profiles using a special profile generation tool at each step.

For some time in the past, traditional proofing methods, control strips, densitometers, and photometers have proven effective in color control. At least for offset printing, it works well. In fact, because the digital printing press is more convenient for controlling graphic messages, it is easier to implement on-demand printing in different places. Therefore, digital printing machines need a color management system.
