Shanghai's overall quality of paper packaging container industry improved

Shanghai's paper packaging container industry currently employs about 40,000 people. There are 85 imported and domestically-made corrugated board production lines, of which about one-fourth of all advanced computer-controlled high-speed and advanced equipment is used. The output value in 2000 was 1.78 billion yuan, an increase of 10% over 1999, and the output value in 2005 is expected to reach 7 billion yuan.
In recent years, a large number of foreign investors such as Japan, the United States, New Zealand (Sapporo), Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, South Korea, and China’s Taiwan and Hong Kong have successively invested in the construction of more than 60 carton factories in Shanghai. These plants are large-scale and advanced in their equipment. Its market share has reached as high as 50%.
The “centralized manufacturing and decentralized manufacturing” collaborative production method advocated and promoted by the Shanghai Baoxun not only takes into account the existence of the small carton factory, but also remedies the problem of under-production of the production line, and it has significantly improved the overall quality level of the carton industry. After years of hard work, great achievements have been made.
At present, the competition in the cardboard box industry in Shanghai is fierce. It is also facing the squeeze of carton factories in neighboring regions such as Zhejiang and Jiangsu. In addition, some factories have low-priced competitive sales, and accounts receivable are in arrears. With tight liquidity, the economic efficiency of the industry is in a trend of decline. In particular, some old and big factories have fallen into a difficult position to support.
