China's first digital disc injection molding machine independently developed successfully

Mold structure technology has reached the world's leading level. This scientific and technological achievement marks the end of the history of China's complete reliance on imported equipment to process optical discs.
Guangdong Kenli Machinery Co., Ltd. (former Shunde Qinchuan Hengli Plastic Machinery Co., Ltd.) is currently the only manufacturer in the world that can mass-produce four-cylinder fully hydraulic medium and small-sized series injection molding machines ranging from 10 tons to 1,000 tons. It is also a Chinese manufacturer of full hydraulic precision. The large-scale and full-scale professional factory of injection molding machines has been rated as a high-tech enterprise by the Science and Technology Department of Guangdong Province.
China is a big country in the use of digital compact discs. Due to the ultra-precision requirements of injection molded compact discs, the optical disc production line has become a patent product for a few industrial powerhouses. China has long relied entirely on imported equipment for production. According to relevant statistics, China has already introduced more than 300 optical disc production lines. In 1998, the scientific and technological research team headed by Huang Buming as the project leader started a large number of scientific experiments and obtained a series of precision product forming techniques. In 2001, the digital disc injection molding machine was included in the state's key new product project, and a domestically-developed optical disc production line consisting of several institutes and companies was established to jointly tackle the problem.
In March 2002, Guangli Guangdong successfully developed a prototype for optical disc injection molding. In May, it was approved by the State Press and Publication Administration and the National Audio and Video Association's Optical Disc Industry Working Committee to form an optical disc production line for online testing. Experts from the National CD-ROM Center of Tsinghua University have performed on-line and off-line product inspections on CD-ROM production lines. CD, VCD, and CD-R disc specifications are all in line with international standards, especially the molding machine's clamping force and injection pressure. Adaptation, mold self-positioning and precision injection compression functions are more innovative than foreign products.
The compact disc is molded by the injection of polycarbonate plastic. The surface has a small signal depth of 0.11μm, and only 1/700 of the hair is used for injection molding. In order to ensure that these signals are not lost or lost during the press, the production equipment used to produce optical discs is a collection of optical, mechanical, electrical and liquid technologies. Therefore, the successful development of optical disc injection machines represents a major breakthrough in the localization of information technology equipment. It shows that China's plastic machinery has entered the international advanced ranks.
