Waste recycling rate in western European countries reached 90%
Western European countries have already recovered 90% of all waste plastics according to the 1992 regulations for packaging waste, of which 40% are recycled.
Among the waste plastics, mainly LDPE (low density polyethylene) is 23%, PP (polypropylene) is 17%, HDPE (high density polyethylene) is 12%, PVC (polyvinyl chloride) is 10%, PET (Thermoplastic elastomer) was 9%.
The waste amount of plastics in cities in Germany is 1.77 million tons per year. The method of recycling is the use of the same type of plastics for crushing and cleaning, and addition of 10%-25% of modified plastics followed by extrusion granulation. Its recycled PE plastics are processed into trash cans after injection molding and exported to the world.
