Soft Packaging Industry: Green Packaging Becomes Consensus

In recent years, there is a voice in the soft packaging industry that echoes over China and even the world, that is, the environmental protection of packaging.

Recently, in Asia, there is a tendency to pursue GDP growth in a one-sided manner, but Western economists believe that focusing on GDP growth only looks like marathon runners sprint from the very beginning. Everyone knows that he will lose, and so does the economy. Western countries such as Britain and the United States have fundamentally attached importance to the harmonization of environment and resources with the development of the economy. The greenization of packaging is a common consensus among European and American counterparts, because governments of various countries have made detailed provisions on the production of packaging to ensure that the damage to the environment is reduced to a minimum.

Therefore, unlike the Asian packaging industry, Westerners pursue "as long as they are good enough," while many Asian countries pursue "higher is better." China is no exception to becoming a part of the production model of high input and low output. Some of them are able to have a certain share in the international market, relying on the low cost, but how much is the low cost of destroying the Chinese people's living environment? First destroying the environment, then remediating the environment, and eating off the children's meals, the mistakes that have been made in Western industrial countries should not be repeated.

Green packaging should actually be considered from two aspects. First, the packaging itself is green and can be biodegraded. Second, the packaging production process is green and does not produce excessive damage to the environment and resources. The laws and regulations introduced by countries actually emphasize these two aspects.

From the perspective of flexible packaging companies, the first is to invest heavily in research and development costs, and cooperation with upstream enterprises, the development of new types of green raw materials, reduce the impact of packaging waste on the environment, improve the utilization of natural resources. The second is to adopt new technologies to reduce exhaust emissions and improve energy efficiency. At present, the gradual application of water-based inks, water-based adhesives, and solvent-free adhesives will change the pattern of China's packaging market and enable packaging companies to develop in a green and environmentally-friendly manner to meet the country's increasingly stringent requirements.
