The IC card (IntegratedC ircuitCard, ICC) can be generally divided into three types: ordinary memory IC card, encrypted logic IC card and smart IC card (with MPU); according to the connection with ICC Interface Device (ICD) The method can be divided into two types: a contact IC card and a non-contact IC card. When the contact IC card is in data communication with the outside world, the chip contact must be directly connected to the IFD; the non-contact IC card does not need to be directly connected, but uses radio frequency identification technology to communicate by radio wave or electromagnetic induction. Therefore, the non-contact IC card is also called the RF card. IC card entered China later, domestic IC card technology company is still in the initial stage of development, and has not yet formed a scale industry. IC card application systems are mostly small and medium-sized systems, such as IC card dining charging system, IC card meter charging system, IC card entertainment consumption management system, IC card door control system, Ic card road toll system, IC card enterprise employee management system. , intelligent building IC card management system, credit card system, telecom SIM card, etc. After rapid development in recent years, IC cards have formed a situation in which multiple cards are developed in parallel and multiple application modes coexist. Due to the lack of unified planning, it has not been realized, and more than one card has been used, resulting in “one person and multiple cards”, which has caused great inconvenience to cardholders in using IC cards. At present, China’s IC card promotion and application has begun to enter the popularization stage, IC card The application field is more and more wide, and the same cardholder may be involved in multiple consumer fields. Cardholders obviously want “one card.” However, the application of IC cards in various consumer fields cannot be synchronized, and there should be a development. Therefore, in the development and design of the IC card application system, the principle of “all-round consideration, unified planning, and step-by-step implementation” must be followed, so that the developed system will have vitality.

1 Function planning of multi-function IC card application system

When planning and designing a multi-function IC card application system, it should be considered to have the following functional requirements:

(1) Debit Card or Credit Card: In order to ensure the security and credibility of the system, the bank should be the main body of development, according to the People's Bank of China on Electronic Passbook (Electronic Bankbook) and Electronic Wallet (Electronic) Purse) is a specification that uses smart cards to issue savings cards or credit cards. The card should include two parts: electronic passbook and electronic wallet.
(2) Salary card: The employee's salary should be able to be issued to the card through the bank.
(3) Consumer card: Cardholders can use this card to purchase shopping (shopping card) in a mall with a specific POS machine; in a hospital with a specific POS machine (medical card); in a canteen with a specific POS machine Meal (dining card); can take a bus or taxi with a specific POS machine, (ride card) and so on.
(4) Payment card: The cardholder can use this card to pay telephone, electricity, water, gas and so on at the bank or designated equipment.
(5) Identification card: When a specific POS machine is configured in different occasions, the card can become an access card, a time card, a library card, and the like.

2 Multi-function IC card type selection and design

For financial security reasons, smart cards with microprocessors must be used. However, in some cases where pollution, vibration, crowded harsh environment and high speed for card swiping are not applicable, smart cards are not suitable, and non-contact cards must be used. If the smart card chip and the RF card chip are packaged on the same card base to form a multi-function smart card, the security requirements can be met, and the practical requirements can be met.

The application data of the card is divided into three categories: electronic passbook (deposit data), electronic wallet (electronic cash data), and electronic ledger (consumption data). The electronic passbook corresponds to a bank account and saves the account deposit. There are multiple e-wallets, and each application has an e-package. When the cardholder wants to make a certain purchase, the card can be used to transfer the required amount from the electronic passbook to the corresponding electronic wallet, so that it can be consumed on the corresponding POS machine, the electronic passbook and the electronic wallet are Implemented on a smart card chip. There are also a number of electronic books, mainly used in the field of terminal consumption by means of induction, such as bus electronic tickets. In this field, electronic books and electronic wallets correspond one-to-one, but the saved data may not be the same. For example, according to the unit price of consumption, the amount data in the corresponding electronic wallet can be converted into “points” and stored on the electronic book. The consumption on the POS machine is to reduce the “consumption points” from the electronic book. The electronic ledger is implemented on the RF card chip.

3 multi-function IC card application system

The multi-function IC card application system involves many fields and the system composition is relatively complicated. This paper gives a block diagram of its general composition, as shown in Figure 1. In the figure, the thick solid line indicates the communication cable, the dotted line indicates the stand-alone operation, the large-capacity IC card transmits the data, the solid arrow indicates the direct contact between the IC card and the IFD, and the dotted line indicates the non-contact exchange between the IC card and the IFD. data.
