Xuanen County launched a special rectification of plastic shopping bags

(Correspondent Lu Yanping) In order to welcome the Beijing Olympics, from the middle of July, the county branch of the Bureau of Industry and Commerce began a two-month large-scale special rectification work on the production, sale, and use of plastic shopping bags in the county's market.

The county has deployed 120 law enforcement officers, 10 vehicles, 19 markets, and 517 business households. During the inspection, more than 4,200 unqualified plastic shopping bags were discovered and collected on the spot. At the same time, strict market access, strengthen the standardization and supervision of market entities, and resolutely investigate and punish illegal use of plastic shopping bags.

The work began in May of this year. Xuan'en Industry and Commerce Department carried out publicity work on the production and use of plastic shopping bags throughout the county, printed 1,500 publicity materials, and actively guided consumers to establish the concept of “green consumption”.
