Google's new patent: contact lens built-in micro camera
Google has applied for a patent for a contact lens with a built-in micro camera, which can control various functions through blinking, and can help blind people "see" things with the help of data processing technology.
This contact lens is equipped with smart lenses that can detect light, colors, objects and human faces using built-in sensors. Users can control this product through a series of unique blinking actions.
The most breakthrough of Google is to help blind people "see" the moving objects around them. For example, when a blind person wearing this contact lens walks on a sidewalk and approaches an intersection, the analysis component built into the device can process the raw image data captured by the camera to let the blind person know if a car is approaching the intersection.
This contact lens also has wireless capabilities and can be associated with a smartphone. Google demonstrated a prototype contact lens prototype in January this year, which can facilitate diabetes patients to monitor blood sugar levels to maintain good health.
