According to a shocking new study, 70 million sharks are killed each year due to illegal and unethical hunting practices, and the number of some species has dropped by 99% in the past 40 years. The first Silence of the Sharks underwater protest was held on December 18, 2015 in Eilat, Israel. After detailed briefing and an on-site rehearsal, 87 divers from Israel, Germany, the United Kingdom, France and Monaco were divided into 10 groups and then sneaked into the 20-meter deep water to take photos with the 3D printed shark model. Another underwater protest is scheduled to take place in South Africa in June 2016, followed by events in various parts of Europe. And in the end, the biggest underwater protest, D-Dive, will be held on October 23, 2016, when more than 500 divers will sneak into the Mediterranean.
