Using Signastation Imposition (bottom)

Step 5: Use the tag

Now you can add some markers on the imposition layer. Because of the different collation, the used markers are different: page markers, layer markers, signatures, and registration markers.
In order to apply tags quickly and accurately, you must consider the relative position of these tags on the page, on the layers, and with the plate parameters. Next we will explain a quick method.
Our example requires the following tags:
1. Offsets and cut lines are required at the edge of the page and adjacent places;
2. The document mark of the plate center.
Insert the cutting line Now we insert some tags needed for paging.
1. Hold down the shift key to select all pages in the group window or hold down ctrl+a to select all pages.
2. Go to marks inspector;
3. Select "Page" in the area below the marks inspector;
4. Click on "cut mark" (Figure 8);
5. In this dialog box, you can set the distance from the logo to the margin in the offset & scale area. The default value is 0.
6. When using the tag, see if the selected "on selected page", click the "set marks" button, set the tag position (Figure 9);
7. Make sure the markers are in the group window. Compare the differences in the figure below. The group window is shown in Figure 10.
Adding plate mark Finally, let's set up the document label, which is part of the plate label. This means that their position on the plate is determined by the coordinates of the upper left corner of the plate.
The document tag can help you quickly identify a plate. It contains the following standard information: file name, page, time and date of new document creation, color information, etc.
1. Select the document tag in the standard tag list.
2. Select "free" in the area under the markers inspector (see Figure 11).
The label appears as an icon in the lower part of the dialog. You can put any icon in this box. After you set the parameters for each tag in Position Scale, the position of the tag is fixed.
3. Click on a box in the icon and the tag is placed in this box. You can use coordinates to determine the actual position of the label.
4. In the group window, hold down the ctrl key and click the label of the document you want to place, such as the center of the plate. A red cross will appear in this location.
5. Click "take" in the positions & scale area of the markers inspector to determine the dimensions in (x, y) coordinates.
If you already know the coordinates you want, you can enter the coordinates directly here. Then click on "apply".
6. Select 90 in the rotation area to rotate the label 90 degrees.
7. After confirming your choice, click on "apply".
8. Of course, with drag & drop, you can also manually move the label's position.
Now you just have to copy them to the back.
Copying markers to the back panel only shows one side at a time. For example, when you set a marker, they will only appear on one side of the plate and appear in the group window.
In this example, we want to copy the mark from the front to the back. Use the signature inspector a few steps to complete.
1. Go to the signature inspector.
In the signature inspector, you can select individual tags in the grouping window that contains many tags.
The selected marker appears in the central area of the signature inspector. The first item in the selection list indicates the front of the group job. This selection is directly linked to the build window: The build window shows the selected side (Figure 12).
2. Click "copy to back" in the copy changes area. Now all the changes on the front are copied to the opposite side.
3. Select the reverse flag in the active signature list. In this way, all the marks on the backside appear in the build window.

Step 6: Save the template

Previously set tags can also be used in other jobs later. In the file menu, select "save template", the file name is 64x45, and then save. This template now contains all the tags you need.

Step 7: Select Output Devices and Parameters

Open the "edit/Output inspector" and select the appropriate output device in the "Type" option. Then use the "CIP3 data generation" option to generate a PPF file in a print production format that contains layout, folding, cropping, and other information. The information in the PPF file can be used in the print production process after the imposition to initialize the folding and cutting machines.

to sum up

A template has the following 4 features.
1. The template contains all the markups for the build (except for certain PS documents): plate size, build mode, home page, used tags, imposition layers, page offset, bookbinding type, and possibly blank pages.
2. When creating a template, you can do it in different stages or set it up for a specific group.
3. Select save template in the file menu to save the template.
4. Select "load template" from the file menu to import the template.
Note that the setting of group parameters is very important. We determine the template size based on the size of the PS document and their relative position on the plate. You can use the scheme editor to apply the imposition layer to a group layout.
To increase the speed with which you can open and process documents, you can choose not to place pages in WYSIWYG mode. And can randomly change the style of the selected page, the actual mode, and so on, which can better check the relative position of the page. You can also see how to place and set the markup on the page in the marks inspector.
For the rest of the workflow, a lot of information from the prepress stage is very valuable, and the sharing of information can shorten the preparation time of the subsequent process. These data from prepress can be used in color control systems, automatic register control systems, and folding and cutting equipment. Signastation packages information data, plus data such as job name, plate number, etc., and provides it in CIP3 PPF format. When Signastation is working in the Prinergy Workflow Management System, job tickets are automatically generated, including all relevant imposition information including all control symbols. If there is a sudden change at the last minute before printing, Signastation will perform all necessary changes quickly and reliably through an interactive dialogue with the job flow system. Therefore, under the current trend of reduced market volume and increased number of personalized jobs, the CIP3 management process managed by Signastation is the best way to rationally develop the additional potential of the company.
