The advantage of this technology is that its dots are relatively fine. With good CTP plates and good plate-making control, it can produce high-quality plates, but the speed is slower than that of the purple laser.
The special plate used in violet laser technology is the photosensitive CTP plate. This plate has a very high sensitivity and does not require high energy to make the coating chemically react. The laser beam emitted by the high-frequency ultraviolet laser emitter, similar to the thermal technology, scans on the surface of the plate to complete the exposure of the image.
The advantage of violet laser CTP technology is fast speed. However, the environment is very demanding, requiring dark rooms and dust-free treatment of the air. In addition, because the laser energy is Gaussian, there is a decrease from the center to the edge of the light, making the dot rough. Because of the high sensitivity of the plates, it is difficult to control the dots.
Both technologies have their own merits, but whether it is thermal technology or photosensitive technology, because special CTP plates must be used, and the plates are matched with the equipment, the two are tied together, and the plate production technology is mainly controlled abroad.
